Manaslu Circuit Trek

Tour Overview

Manaslu circuit trek leads you through the mountain peaks, glaciers, high latitude lakes, rivers, pastures and dense forests of pristine Manaslu Conservation Area (1,663 km2). Mount Manaslu (8163 m) is the major attraction of the park. On this trek you can get great views of mount Annapurna, Ganesh and Langtang. Manaslu Conservation Area is home to Snow leopard, Grey Wolf, Musk Deer, Blue Sheep and Himalayan Tahr. You can discover 21 species of mammals, 193 species of birds, 587 species of vascular plants, 2,500 species of flora during the this trek. Bird species seen during this trek are the Variegated laughing-thrush, Grandala, Northern Goshawk. Manaslu circuit trek offers unique experience of wilderness and adventure in the pristine Manaslu conservation area.

Tour Itinery

  • DAY 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m/4,428ft)

    Our representative will pick you up at the international airport and drive you to the hotel. After then you will take a meandering evening walk with your guide through Kathmandu’s heritage sites, and get acquainted with one another over dinner together.

  • DAY 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing

    Today you will spend the day discovering medieval Kathmandu. Venture into Pashupatinath and visit Nepal’s largest Buddhist stupa, the Boudhanath Stupa. Later after noon you will visit monkey temple and then stroll around durbar squares in the evening. Overnight stay at hotel near Thamel.

  • DAY 3: Kathmandu to Sotikhola (710m/2,329ft) : 8-9 hours

    Early in the morning you will take a drive to Sotikhola village in Dhading district. On the way you can see green terraces and rural communities. After taking the dirt road to Sotikhola you can see the views of mount Annapurna, Langtang, Ganesh and Manaslu. You will stay overnight in Sotikhola.

  • DAY 4: Soti Khola - Maccha Khola (900m/2,952ft) : 6-7 hours

    The trek starts from the Soti khola after having the morning breakfast. You will trek through beautiful Saal forest accompanied by numerous waterfalls. After then you will cross Budhi Gandaki river and get to Khursane via rocky trail. You will continue trekking through beautiful Gurung town of Labubesi and cross a suspension bridge to get to Machha Khola for overnight stay.

  • DAY 5: Maccha Khola - Jagat (1,410m/4,625ft) : 6-7 hours

    Today you willl cross Thado Khola and get to Khorlabesi. You will trek by the natural hot spring in Tatopani and cross the Budhi Gandaki river. You will trek further via Dobhan cross Yaru river and climb Thado Bharyang. After then you will trek through beautiful Gurung settlements and get to Jagat for staying overnight.

  • DAY 6: Jagat - Deng (1,804m/5,917ft) : 6-7 hours

    You will trek via Gurung village Philim and through the cultivated lands to Ekle Bhattai. From there you will cross the river Budi Gandakai and continue through bamboo forest to Deng. You will cross the Deng river and stay overnight in the village of Deng.

  • DAY 7: Deng - Namrung (2,630m/8,626ft) : 6-7 hours

    Today you will cross the river Budi Gandaki again and enter the Budi Gandaki valley. You will then trek via Prok village while gazing at stunning views of mount Siringi. After then you will trek further upstream of river Budi Gandakai crossing it several times and get to Namrung for staying overnight.

  • DAY 8: Namrung – Samagaon (3,530m/11,578ft) : 6-7 hours

    As you trek further from Namrung village you can get spectacular views of mount Ganesh, Siringi and Himchuli. You will continue trekking to Lihi village through beautiful forest, farm fields and chhortens. After then you will pass through Sho village, continuing further you will get to Lho village from where you can get magnificent views of mount Manaslu. You will also explore Ribung Gompa in Lho village and trek to Shyala. From Shyala you can get dramatic views of mount Himchuli, Peak 29, Manaslu and numerous snow capped peaks. Trekking further you will get to Samagaon where you will stay overnight.

  • DAY 9: Rest Day

    You will spend the day at Samagaon acclimatizing and exploring the village. You can find thousands of Mani stones throughout the village. The village is mostly inhabited by Sherpa community. You can enjoy warm Nepalese hospitality at Samagaon. Later the day you will visit Pungyen Gompa, your guide will tell you interesting stories about the village and mountains. You will stay overnight in Samagaon.

  • DAY 10: Samagaon - Samdo (3,860m/12,660ft) : 4-5 hours

    You will continue trekking towards Samdo through beautiful Brich and Juniper forest. You will pass through alpine grassland of Kermo Kharka and cross the river Budi Gandaki on wooden bridge to get to Samdo. You will stay overnight in Samdo.

  • DAY 11: Rest Day in Samdo

    Today you will stay in Samdo for acclimatization. Later in the day you will go on a day hike to beautiful spot from where you can get amazing views of mount Simrang, Hiunchuli, Ngadi, Cheo, Kang, Guru and Larkye Peak.

  • DAY 12: Samdo - Dharamsala/Larkya B. C. (4460m/14,628ft) : 4-5 hours

    Today you will trek around the valley of Salka Khola while gazing at the Larkya glacier. Then trekking further you will get to a stone made hut called Dharmashala. You will stay overnight in Dharmasahala.

  • DAY 13: Dharamsala - Larkya la (5,160m/16,924ft) - Bimthang (3,720m/12,201ft) : 8-9 hours

    You will trek further from Dharmashala through the moraines of the glacier. Then you will get to Larkya La pass at 5,160m from where you can get stunning views of Larkya Peak, mount Himlung, Cheo, Kangguru and the bold Annapurna II. Crossing the pass you will enter in to the magnificent sight of mount Manaslu. You will trek further to Bimthang gazing at this beautiful mountain glowing gold. Overnight in Bimthang.

  • DAY 14: Bimthang - Tilije (2,300m/7,544ft) : 5-6 hours

    Today you will descend through Sangure alpine meadow and cross Dudh river. On the way you can get dramatic views of mount Manaslu, Lamjung, Himlung and Cheo. Continuing further through rhododendron forests and farm field you will get to Gho. You will trek further to Tilije for staying overnight.

  • DAY 15: Tilije - Tal (1,700m/5,576ft) : 5-6 hours

    Today you will trek via Thonje village crossing several Mani walls. From there you will trek further to Dharapani and Karte village. You will then cross Marshyangdi river and reach the village Tal situated under the big water fall.

  • DAY 16: Tal - Syange (1,080m/3,542ft) : 6-7 hours

    You will continue trekking via Chyamje village and cross Marsyangdi river before entering its valley. As you descend through the trail you can see rhododendron and pine forests, farm fields and scattered human settlements on the green hills. You will then get to Syange for staying overnight.

  • DAY 17: Syange - Kathmandu : 8-9 hours

    Today you will take a bus drive to Kathmandu. Along the way you can see fascinating hilly areas and settlements. You will drive through Besisahar alongside the river Marsyangdi and Trishuli and get to Kathmandu. In Kathmandu you can take rest until evening and join a farewell dinner with the team.

  • DAY 18: Departure

    Make the most of your last minutes in Kathmandu with breakfast in a bistro, a city walk, and additionally trinket shopping. Your guide will meet you at your inn and drive you to the airport two hours before the scheduled flight.

  • Hiking boots, sports shoe/ trainers, 3/4 woolen socks ,2pairs liners socks, 1 pairs gloves, warm hat, 1 Day back pack and duffel bag for your clothing.
  • Warm layers, down or synthetic jackets, fleece, hiking pants, thermals.
  • Comprehensive list will be provided after you book the trip.
  • Most of the items can be bought or hired in Kathmandu.
